
Umzi 1 - Hospitality
The first intake of Umzi Wethu began their training in April 2006 at the newly renovated Academy in Port Elizabeth. This group of 13 students was chosen from over 100 applicants and entered training in Professional Cookery and Food and Beverage Management. On graduation in 2007 were all placed in jobs in partnering game reserves as junior chefs, waitrons and junior food and beverage managers. Three years later, 85% of these graduates are still employed or studying further.
